The UCC was the first national Christian body to sign on to the plan, which was sponsored in the U.S. House of Representatives by New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. The Pacific Northwest Conference of the UCC voted at its annual meeting in April to support this resolution for inclusion at Synod. Keystone members who attended the PNW meeting voted for the conference to endorse this resolution.
