CLIMATE WATCH PARTY w/RICH & CONNIE: Connie and Rich will be hosting a watch party TOMORROW, Saturday Feb. 3 at 7:00pm. They will be showing a taped broadcast from a theater in Washington, D.C. of a star-studded show of climate movement leaders including Bill McKibben, Bernie Sanders, Cherri Foytlin, Varshini Prakash, Rev Yearwood, Jacqueline Patterson, and more. They will unveil a clear roadmap for our movement in 2018 and beyond. This is a plan that's been developed alongside hundreds of national partners, local 350.org groups, activists, thinkers, and leaders who are part of this movement. This is a plan that can help us make progress today, and set the stage for even bigger wins in the future. As the 2018 legislative session in Olympia kicks off, it's vital now more than ever to raise our voices and urge our legislators to pass the bills necessary to help and house people. The Seattle/King County Coalition on Homelessness is offering a series of refresher workshops to help folks boost their advocacy skills. They are free, fun, and provide people with the tools they need to advocate this legislative session. JOIN OUR KEYSTONE CONGREGATION TO OLYMPIA!
Now is the time to register for Interfaith Advocacy Day in Olympia! It will be Tuesday, February 20, 9 AM – 3 PM, starting at The United Churches of Olympia. Click here to register. We are scheduling appointments with legislators now and have a better chance to get them if we know you’re coming. Registration is NOW OPEN and is $15 is you pay before February 20th, and $20 at the door. If you need help with cost contact FAN about scholarships. Please be sure to register before February 12th . Registering after February 12th will not guarantee you an appointment with legislators and/or staff.

Please join us for Interfaith Advocacy Day on February 20, 2018 from 9:00AM – 3:00PM This is a great opportunity to join workshops that will break down the issues of FAN’s2018 Legislative Agenda, prepare for briefings and hearings with advocates from your legislative district, and meet with you legislator. The Voting Rights Act passed the Senate January 19th and is going now to the House of Representatives. Other issues we will need to take action on as a community is HB 1506, the equal pay act; Breakfast After the Bell, Enhanced Assault Weapons Background Checks, SB 6110 BAN the BOX/Fair Chance Act, and various Immigration bills, which include SB 5689 Keep WA Working, and HB 14488 DACA student scholarships.

Sign Petition to Rescind Activist's Deportation Order
Mijente has created a petition to call for the Seattle Immigration and Customs Enforcement Office to rescind a deportation order for Maru Mora-Villalpando, a Washington-based community activist and mother. Maru leads Northwest Detention Center Resistance (NWDCR), an organization that was founded when immigratns held at the Northwest Detention Center began a series of hunger strikes in 2014 protesting their inhumane treatment. ICE is targeting Maru because of her activism, targeting organizers and activists like her as part of their racially motivated deportation agenda. Winter Faith Formation/Upcoming Discussion Group:
Forward Together
 Starting at the end of February, we will begin an exciting new action-oriented discussion group. Rich, Lauren, Yuki, and Hunter will be facilitating discussion. The themes we will explore are as follows:
Intersectionality
Fusion / politics
Systematic change
Strategic roles we can play
The first meeting of this group will be a field trip. We hope you can join us as we bring a group down to Olympia for Interfaith Advocacy Day on Tuesday, February 20.
The class will meet at Keystone on Wednesday, February 28 and the following 3 Wednesdays (March 7, 14, and 20). Our tentative plan is to meet from 6:30-8:00pm, and starting at 6:00 pm, we will have our meeting space open with tea and instant soups available. Feel free to give us feedback about this time in the weeks to come.
We will be using Rev. Dr. William J Barber II's book, Forward Together. We have copies of the books at Keystone after February 8. The cost is $15 each on a sliding scale, as we want this opportunity to be available for everyone who wants to join! Copies available in the office on Sundays after February 8.

Justice Leadership Programs Northwest is now accepting applications from change-makers of all ages who are looking to deepen their faith while doing the work of justice. The Justice Leadership Program, affiliate of the national Young Adult Service Communities Network, seeks motivated young people ages 21-35 for an 11-month internship beginning in September 2018. Interns learn community organizing and political advocacy working full time at a Seattle-based nonprofit, while living in intentional community and serving a local congregation. Come help us celebrate the 15th anniversary of the Meaningful Movies, cake included. Our movie for the evening is the PBS Frontline documentary “War on the EPA.” The film tells the story of how combatting perceived federal overreach by the EPA became a popular conservative cause. It unpacks the events that led to the Trump administration’s withdrawal from the Paris climate agreement, and to repealing the Clean Power Plan. Join us after the film for a discussion with a panel of former EPA employees.

Pastor Rich is available Tuesday to Thursday mornings and Friday evenings, and holds additional office times on Saturdays and Sundays. (Monday is Sabbath.)
