Barbara Bennett is a consultant in private practice and an adjunct faculty member of t3, a national training center affiliated with the Boston-based Center for Social Innovation.  A school psychologist and special educator, Barb worked with Seattle Public Schools from 2007-2013 to provide professional development and coaching for teachers and administrators.  In 1989 she co-founded First Place, a non-profit agency and school for children and families who have experienced homelessness and other family crises.  She worked there for 18 years in several positions including director of education and director of social services.  Barb has been an instructor in psychology with the University Behind Bars at Monroe Correctional Complex and has taught workshops throughout the country on the impact of trauma and creating trauma-informed organizations and services .  She received her M.Ed. and Ph.D. from the University of Washington.
