39th Annual
Festival of Hope!

Saturday, November 18, 10am – 4pm
Sunday, November 19, 12-3pm

Spread the word and bring your friends to Keystone's annual Festival of Hope! Each year, our Keystone community raises thousands of dollars to support programs that alleviate hunger and poverty, both locally and around the world. Join us and shop for a cause this Christmas!

Total throughout the Festival’s history, we have raised over $340,000 to help others!

THERE'S STILL TIME to keep an eye out for Festival items or things you might like to make or donate.
  • Soups for deli
  • Baked goods
  • Books
  • Holiday decorations
  • Nice household items/décor, things you could give as a gift
  • Vintage/Antiques
  • Jewelry
Cashiers, booth-attendants and set-up/breakdown helpers are also always needed. Talk to Eliza to sign up.

AND DON'T FORGET!

THE BAKE SALE: Planning to bring items to the FOH bake sale? The bake sale is always popular and it would be great to have whatever you want to bring. It would help in planning if we have a general idea of what will be arriving. That way we can fill in gaps and make sure we have a variety of items.

There’s a sign-up sheet at church or you can e-mail Margaret Graham at magraham4@comcast.net or text/call 206-353-1323. Thanks in advance for any contributions!

THE QUILTS! Click HERE for a preview of the beautiful quilts up for auction at this year's Festival of Hope.  The quilts are hand-made by our quilter par excellence, Mona Hassan. When you bid on a quilt, you will enter an auction to win a quilt, AND you will help Keystone donate to Healing Art Missions, who were here with us leading worship on March 19, 2017.

Bring your family and friends and work together raising money to help those less fortunate!

Earth Ministry
Fall Colleague Gathering: Resilience Potluck

Date: Tuesday, November 14
Time: 6-8pm
Location: Keystone UCC, 5019 Keystone Place N, Seattle, WA 98103

Whether you’ve been attending Colleague Gatherings for years or have not once made it to an Earth Ministry event, we hope you will join us for an evening of community building on November 14. Earth Ministry staff, colleagues, and friends from across the region are coming together for a shared meal and good conversation around the topic of resilience. We will discuss what resilience looks like for us personally, as well as for our network of faithful advocates and stewards, and share tools to help you stay strong as you faithfully care for creation.

While this event has traditionally been on a Saturday, we’re going to try a weeknight evening this time to be more inclusive of our Jewish friends who celebrate Shabbat. We know some of you will be headed from work so no worries if you aren’t able to make it right at 6. We’ll start with fellowship and food, then the program will begin closer to 6:30.

FAN announces this year's award winners

The Faith Action Network Annual Dinner is fast approaching. This year's keynote speaker will be Washington State Supreme Court Justice Mary Yu, who will talk about what justice looks like from her perspective. FAN will also mark the 30th Anniversary of the Apology Letter to Northwest Tribes, acknowledging the healing and rebuilding that still needs to be done. Rick Steves will be present again this year.

This year’s Award Winners who will be honored that night include someone near and dear to Keystone's heart ...

Legacy Award: This year, Rev. Rich Gamble of Keystone UCC in Seattle stepped down from Co-Chairing the FAN Governing Board since its inception. FAN will honor him for his dedicated work as a founder and leader, helping to guide the merger of the Washington Association of Churches and Lutheran Public Policy Office into the creation of FAN. Rich excelled at providing vision, coaching through bumps along the road, reminding FAN of its mission, and being a faithful prophetic voice. He also founded the Justice Leadership Program through the United Church of Christ, which is making a difference for young adult leadership and engagement in social justice. FAN will honor these legacies, and knows he’s not done yet!

Interfaith Economic Justice Coalition
monthly meetings - 'love of neighbor'

Opportunity to witness for justice:  Interfaith Economic Justice Coalition monthly meetings are held the third Thursday of each month at 10am, with Keystone represented by Pastor Lauren, our Justice Leadership Program Interns, and Keystone folks.  You are welcome any month to come check out a meeting and see if this witness calls to you, as we embody our 'love  of neighbor'. Iris Chavez (JLP '16-'17) helped us support concession workers at Seatac Airport and security workers at Amazon, as they fought for dignity on the job and the wages they were due; most are workers of color, women, immigrants and refugees. Connect with Pastor Lauren for more information:
